Susie Barrie is an award-winning Master of Wine known for her engaging blend of enthusiasm, authority and down-to-earth charm. Susie was one of only a handful of MWs to pass all parts of the exam first time and was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award as the top student in her graduation. She is an international competition judge and Chair of the WineGB Awards. Susie is also a regular Decanter contributor and author of several books, the most recent being The Essential Guide to English Wine, which she wrote with her husband and fellow MW, Peter Richards. Together Susie & Peter provide high level consultancy for clients including restaurants, hotels and airlines, and they are the founders and co-hosts of the acclaimed annual Wine Festival Winchester, described as ‘the finest wine festival in the country’.
