IMW launches free webinar series
The IMW has launched a free webinar series, the first of which took place on Wednesday 6 May 2020 where four wine-producing Masters of Wine, from four countries, shared the challenges they are currently facing during the coronavirus pandemic.
The 500 registered attendees heard from webinar moderator Richard Bampfield MW and MW wine producers Amy Christine MW, Black Sheep Finds Winery, US, Richard Kershaw MW, Kershaw Wines, South Africa, Alastair Maling MW, Foley Wines, New Zealand and Norrel Robertson MW, El Escocés Volante, Spain.
Continuing to look at the implications COVID-19 has on the global wine industry, the second in the IMW webinar series will explore the disruption in the supply chain – from producer to consumer.
Over two separate sessions, the webinar will examine what wine distribution might look like in a post-COVID-19 world, how wineries will need to engage with their customers and the best ways of selling to them.
Both the sessions will be moderated by Cassidy Dart MW – originally from South Africa and now based in China – with a panel of special guests. The first session (Monday 11 May 2020) will be a deep dive into the direct to consumer platform with Carol Reber, SVP Chief Marketing Officer, Duckhorn, US, Peter Hazlehurst, Head of Uber Money, US, Prof Steve Charters MW, Burgundy School Business, France and Ross Sleet, Managing Director, Rascallian Wines, South Africa.
The second session (Monday 18 May 2020) will focus more broadly on the way wineries interact with consumers.

About the Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW)
