Jon is a highly commercial Master of Wine with an in-depth understanding of the global wine business who has run companies in every sector of the wine trade - wineries, distributors and retailers.
He is currently Managing Director of Tenute del Mondo, an ultra-premium wine group which owns Achaval Ferrer in Argentina, Propriedad de Arinzano in Spain, and a share of Tenute di Toscana (which includes Ornellaia and Masseto in its portfolio).
In his previous role as Chief Operating Officer at top UK importer Enotria&Coe, Jon was responsible for the Buying, Marketing, Retail and Off Trade teams. The role included sourcing 50m bottles of wine and spirits a year for one of the country's most iconic portfolios, for sale across the breadth of the UK on and off trades. He also ran private client retailer Great Western Wine. Prior to joining E&C he was Managing Director at Buckingham Schenk, operating in the highly competitive world of sourcing and selling own label wines into the UK supermarkets.
Before joining the wine trade Jon spent his early career in the luxury goods and beauty industries. He read French and Spanish at Oxford University before joining the L'Oreal management training scheme which combined classic FMCG training with an obsessive knowledge of high street cosmetics brands. He then moved to luxury powerhouse LVMH, working at Guerlain and then Thomas Pink in Marketing and Retail roles before catching the wine bug on holiday on South Africa.
