Entered trade with Brown Gore and Welch in 1968. Joined Berry Bros & Rudd Ltd in 1970. Became wine director in 1977. Left in 1986 to take over Oxford and Cambridge business of Dolamore. Business sold in 1990. Started First Growth, a television and video production company, in 1990. Made 7 part wine series and 2 series of cooking programmes with Prue Leith for BBC2. Corporate clients include Cutty Sark Scots Whisky, Madeira Wine Company, Moet & Chandon, WSET, Chx Pichon Lalande & Cos d?Estornel, The Champagne Bureau, Taylor?s Port, Freixenet, Hennessy Cognac and Grand Marnier. Since 2006, has run the Devon Wine School with his wife Carol.
